What is an orb?

An orb is a spherical body of transparent light.

Orbs are often seen as circular, translucent shapes that appear in photographs or videos, especially in environments believed to be haunted or spiritually active. Some people interpret these orbs as evidence of spirits or ghosts. However, skeptics argue that orbs are often caused by natural phenomena, such as dust, moisture, insects, or reflections of light, which happen in a lot of cases but some others are more complicated to discredit.

Here are some things to look out for:

  • Quite often they are balls of light.

  • They sometimes leave a trail behind them – almost like a comet.

  • Dust and moisture particles usually appear in multiples, whereas orbs tend to be alone in the shot.

  • Insects do not form a perfectly round sphere. They are brighter due to the higher density of insects compared to dust.

  • Sometimes you may ‘feel’ a spiritual presence once you have caught a true orb on film, other times this sensation may not be there.

  • Orbs can sometimes be seen with the naked eye, they might pulsate or you may see them travelling.

What is captured is all dependent on the environment and media conditions (available and types of light, length of exposure time, etc), however, the object in question is usually dense enough in form there is some sort of reflection of energy from a camera. (Reflection definition: Reflection occurs when light traveling through one material bounces off a different material.)

If you see an orb with your physical eyes, sunlight and moonlight can also help guide the creation of reflection for you to see a visible image.

One time I saw them with my bare eyes, at the beginning I thought that something was wrong with me and that I had a glare in my eyes. One night I was sitting outside a house located near a cemetery and I saw two large orange/ yellow orbs floating near me at about 3 feet, they were moving and hovering as they were observing me, I got a little frightened and went inside the house, just to see another one in the room. This one was navy blue-purple, I rubbed my eyes multiple times but it was still there hovering around, until it disappeared behind a wall.

Another time I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, while walking through the living room I saw a light like a shooting star coming from my right side straight to the ground, it was going so fast that it formed a ray of light.

Orbs can have various speeds some have rapid movement, some are hovering. It hinges on the nature of the entity behind it.

Orbs have been a big part of our lives since we moved up in the Catskills, hence the name inspiration.

Here are a few videos caught with our night vision indoor camera, with NO other light sources than the little light at the bottom of the camera when it's on.

Feel free to share with us if you have an explanation, I'm ALWAYS keeping an open mind!
